The CAA ruling in the spring of 1999 opened up Licence applications for Ramp Handling and Ramp Transportation allocations at Heathrow, and provided Plane Handling Ltd with the long awaited opportunity to enter this particular Airline handling arena.
November 1999 saw the start of the Ramp Ground Handling Division, which included the investment of over £2m in new ground handling equipment and added a further 135 employees to the
Company. This division services the loading and unloading of aircraft, the baggage sortation and baggage delivery of arriving/departing passengers, the positioning of passengers steps, plus towing and pushback of aircraft. We also undertake dispatch and load-control on behalf of customer airlines.
The Ramp and Transport division has grown significantly year on year with
over 400 employees.
